PMM Disassociates InTech® Expo series from e-Insurance Conference

Special Public Announcement

It has come to our notice that a certain entity, PiNet Informatics Limited, a company owned by Engr. Lanre Ajayi has been falsely making claims of being the first to organize Nigeria’s technology-Insurance Conference, which is billed to take place in Lagos soon. For the avoidance of doubt and to calm the nerves of our international and local partners, Private Media Mart Limited, a Nigerian publicity and event management firm, has had the honor of being the sole organizers of the first and only Insurance Technology (InTech) Expo series since 2008.
InTech® Expo and Conferences is a Registered Trademark of Private Media Mart Limited, designed to examine, advocate, and streamline the deployment of the tools of information and communications technology within the insurance sector. The event series which began in 2008 was meant to examine and review current standards and encourage the adoption of technology tools in the insurance industry in Nigeria and Africa with global best practices as reference point; as well as using the avenue to discuss and ascertain the future direction of the sector; ICT-wise.
From the first edition in 2008 till the last edition in 2012, the Expo had paraded key personalities in the local insurance world as well as leading technology brands with representations from the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance, major players in IT solutions, senior media personalities, among other stakeholders.
Having placed the event series in suspense since 2013, a decision our company (PMM) decided on to repackage and restructure the event to enable us perfect our agreement with international partners that’ll make it a resounding success among the very few global Insurance Technology events, it is pertinent then for us to debunk the notion that the PiNet Limited cloned version is ‘the first’ in Nigeria.
For the avoidance of doubt, we make bold to state that the initiator of the e-Insurance Conference Engr. Ajayi, was the President of the Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) that turned down the invitation to be part of InTech® at the early stages. Yet several years down the line, Insurance Technology is now of ‘paramount importance’ to PiNet Limited. We have no problem with this development neither are we trying to stifle the interest in technologically sound Insurance sector, however we are wary of the rationale behind the 'first and only' title from PiNet, knowing quite well that the title commonly identifies InTech®.
We therefore urge our partners, sponsors and other stakeholders that may have been misled to believe that this e-Insurance Conference is the same as the trademarked InTech® Expo, to be rest assured that our remodeling process is almost complete and that the International version of InTech® Expo will surely hold this year 2017. All information concerning this and our efforts in the insurance technology space in Africa is always published on our blog: http://insurancetechafrica.blogspot.com.ng/

Thank you.
